作家高文刚搬进新居，看门老头就告诉他邻居张勇武已经打跑了四家人，高文一家是第五家。张勇武的老婆很快便与新邻居发生了口角，张勇武养了一条狼狗，严重影响了周围邻居的生活。无奈将此事告发，警察将狗和张勇武一起带走了。张勇武回来后和老婆跑去找刘干部大闹了一场，直到高文迫不得以给警察打电话才将此事平息。。The story of a young group of siblings pretty much abandoned by their parents, surviving by their wits - and humor - on a rough Manchester council estate.
