香港特警队督察蓝朗（方中信饰）在侦察一宗重大罪案期间，冒死前去营救被黑社会绑架的女友（蒙嘉慧饰），却反遭陷害，被迫停职退出警界。朗只好在海边开设小餐厅，希望过平静的生活。可是黑社会势力并没有放过他。十年後，从澳洲回港的年轻人阿孝（陈宇琛饰）来到海鲜酒家工作，其父当年被蓝朗误杀，而阿孝正要来查明真凶。。The film tells the story of three people for a year: a son (Magimel) diagnosed with cancer, a mother (Deneuve) suffering from helplessness and a doctor (Cécile de France) to do her job: One year and four seasons for these three characters to deal with the disease, to tame it, and to understand what it means to die while alive.。两个少女到泰国旅行，被人利用携带毒品，因此被捕入狱。生活一下子变成了恶梦，他们在等律师为自己伸冤的同时，必须在残酷的环境中活下去。这对他们的精神和他们之间的友谊都是极大的考验……。
