故事是从青青与小草，这两位孤女开始的。青青的兄嫂强逼她嫁给一个老头做妾，小草的舅妈对她百般刁难，两个女孩儿不甘受缚于既定的命运，就在青青的婚礼中相协逃走。远赴扬州的傅家庄投靠小草的亲人海爷爷，路上巧遇同样离家出走愤世嫉俗的世家青年何世纬，种种原因令三人决定结伴同行，青青对世纬暗生情愫。到达傅家庄之后，接二连三发生的事件引发了过去的恩怨情仇，小草的身世之谜也有了线索······。This would definitely not have been my kind of movie, but my husband saw it on TV and said it was really good. So, on his recommendation, I bought a copy, since I didn't know if it would ever be on TV again. I had never heard of anybody in it except Armand Assante. At first I had a hard time getting into the story, because the first part of the movie is a jumble of images-- and...。
