男主角伦随母亲从大城市芝加哥移居小镇贝农，该镇人民的生活和思想几乎都控制在古板的摩尔神父手中，对来自城市的伦不太友好。伦也对这种欠缺时代精神和违反人性的生活不以为然，并总想通过自己来改变小镇，于是引进了热门的音乐舞蹈，最终和摩尔神父发生了冲突。。Charlie plays a woman, jealous over her husband's interest in another woman.
