对于新闻记者来说，每一次赶往新闻现场都是一次同行间的赛车比赛。《香港日报》的老记者阿苦（周华健 饰）浸淫行业多年，这天却因为采编不力被主编痛批。同日，从美国留学归来的新丁记者Peter王（吴彦祖 饰）到报馆报到，主编顺势将Peter塞给阿苦照顾。报社之花Joey（张可颐 饰）决定采访为女同学出头反遭退学处理的学生社团分子阿伟，隐瞒身份接近后者。另一方面，阿苦为了采访珠宝展拜访担任展览安保的老朋友麦警官，希望得到独家消息，Peter则得到了一个新手任务：采访因为交通事故陷入窘境的孤儿姐弟三人。三人为了各自的新闻努力与当事人沟通调查，引发了三段充满真情的故事……。We made a movie in a day: We traveled 467 miles, to 20 locations, with 18 actors, in less than 24 hours. The lead actress wasn't given a script, a story line, or even her character name. She 'woke up' in a hotel room with no memory, and her only goal was to figure out who she was.
