曾在东京郊外派出所任职的佐治英雄（小林薰饰）于十年前退休，如今依旧居住在同一街区。有一天，一个名为北岭亚弓（尾野真千子饰）的刑警为调查附近发生的杀人案件前来走访佐治。该事件的受害者，曾因对年轻女性进行跟踪骚扰而被佐治逮捕。此人在服刑后，此次又袭击了那名女性并使其受伤。佐治对自己当时未更加留意此事深感懊悔。 在推进事件调查的过程中，北岭偶然发现了让人怀疑佐治是犯人的物证，对看似正直的他是否为犯人产生了更深的疑虑。察觉到自己被怀疑是杀人犯的佐治，为了维护自己曾经是警察的尊严，试图证明自己的清白，但另一方面，他也开始怀疑自己是否真的不是犯人，因为他患有认知症。想要相信自己清白的佐治与冷静追踪事件的北岭两人，不知不觉踏入了他内心的迷宫…。古老的北京城，中年男子孙子旺（梁冠华 饰）和妻子杨喜莲（杨瑞霞 饰）过着平凡的生活。一封当年插队恋人秀儿的来信，将孙子旺夫妇本就危机重重的婚姻彻底摧毁。原来信中秀儿提及曾生养一对龙凤双胞胎，因无力抚养和社会的压力而将孩子送人。肩负秀儿的嘱托，孙踏上了寻找孩子的旅途，几经辗转却得知孩子们早就被人领养送到了美国。 孙在美国找到插队时的好友张大年（王伯昭 饰），可是张似乎对其寻子之事并不热忱。一番辛苦过后，孙终于找到分别过这不同生活的两个孩子福兰克（王骁 饰）和安琪拉（安雅 饰）。他的到来，似乎又让这两个过早经历太多人世艰辛的孩子体味到更多的痛苦……。Greece, in the 1920's, is occupied by the Turks. The country is in turmoil with entire villages uprooted. The site of the movie is a Greek village that conducts a passion play each year. The leading citizens of the town, under the auspices of the Patriarch, choose those that will play the parts in the Passion. A stuttering shepherd is chosen to play Jesus. The town butcher (who wanted to be Jesus) is chosen as Judas. The town prostitute is chosen as Mary Magdalene. The rest of the disciples are also chosen. As the movie unfolds, the Passion Play becomes a reality. A group of villagers, uprooted by the war and impoverished, arrive at the village led by their priest. The wealthier citizens of the town want nothing with these people and manipulate a massacre. In the context of the 1920's each of the characters plays out their biblical role in actuality.。
