1949年，当共匪的魔掌正攫取大陆之时，中国南部某地，有美籍神父奥班年（威廉•荷顿饰），偕一中国少女秀兰（阮兰丝饰）骑驴赶着路程，朝向某一城镇进发，去接替该城天主教堂的包神父（克利夫顿•韦伯饰）工作，少女秀兰，天真慧黠，对奥神父颇为崇拜，且表心爱慕，她沿途絮絮不休，并向奥吐露爱意，奥不胜其烦，途至三里湾的兰福教堂，遂将秀兰托付李梅神父，自己则兼程赶路，但已经耽误了两天行程。。The Delinquent Season is a tense drama which revolves around two couples in suburban Dublin. Although all seems fine on the surface, cracks in both relationships come to light when, one night at dinner, Chris lashes out at his wife, Yvonne. The film explores both love and loss and ultimately asks the question, How well can any of us really know each other?。
