中美建交后，台湾当局为稳定军政界人心，制造国际舆论，命令以某贸易公司经理身份作掩护的特务头子顾飞，设法把30年前起义投诚的邝剑夫劫持到台湾。邝剑夫的儿子邝海涛就在顾飞的公司里任职，顾飞对其软硬兼施，迫使他接受了回大陆策反父亲的命令，同时，又安排特务唐氏兄妹暗中监视邝海涛。内心充满矛盾的海涛回到了大陆，见到了父亲和妹妹海燕，一家人幸福的团聚了。几天后，耿慧明到邝家来探望在这儿做保姆的妈妈，正碰上邝剑夫的秘书打来电话，要司机去取一盘中央首长重要讲话的录音带。当天夜里，这盘录音带就被特务劫走，其目的是以泄露国家机密对邝剑夫施加压力。沙滩上，自称“夜莺”的方丽娟将一盒磁带和信交给了唐氏兄妹，让他们立即转给邝海涛。接到“夜莺”的命令，邝海涛只得行动了，他婉转地劝说父亲去台湾同母亲团聚，却遭到父亲的拒绝。就在这时，耿慧明突然遭人暗算，公安人员在抢救她时发现一封“...。Rimini, 1991.
